Benjamin Edward Meara Stiller (born November 30, 1965) is an American actor, comedian and filmmaker.

His role in Friends was the portrayal of Tommy in the episode "The One With The Screamer".

His best known roles include the main character in Zoolander, the voice of Alex the lion in the Madagascar films, Josh in Tower Heist, Gaylord Focker in the Meet The Parents films, Larry in Night at The Museum and its sequel, Reuben in Along Came Polly (which also starred Jennifer Aniston) and White Goodman in Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story which also featured his wife Christine Taylor who on Friends portrays Bonnie for 3 episodes in seasons 3 and 4.


  • Ben Stiller co-wrote and directed the 1992 film Reality Bites, produced by Danny DeVito who later plays the male stripper at Phoebe's bachelorette party.
  • Danny DeVito was also producer on Jennifer Aniston and Ben Stiller's 2004 film Along Came Polly, in which Stiller and Aniston again played a couple and which also featured fellow Friends guest stars Alec Baldwin and Hank Azaria.
  • One of Ben's co-stars in the Meet the Parents films was Barbra Streisand, ex-wife of Elliott Gould.
