While Friends Central strives to be as open as possible, sometimes it is necessary to limit editing of certain pages in order to prevent vandalism, edit warring, or other disruptive edits.
High visibility pages such as the Main page, templates included in these, and some of the most frequently transcluded templates, can be indefinitely protected. If something needs to be modified, please discuss it on the talk pages, or at the forum, or contact a local administrator.
Some pages have "move" (rename) protection if they have been subject to frequent abusive moving, without providing reliable in-universe references for a different article name. These pages are normally not edit-protected -- before requesting them to be unprotected or moved, please add the reliable in-universe references into the article itself, or leave a comment with these.
In most other cases, protection should be temporary, to allow the editors to reach a mutually acceptable version on the talk pages or in the comments or forum sections.
