Hugh Laurie plays the man on the plane sitting next to Rachel who's memorable closing remark is "oh and by the way, it's clear you were on a break" in "The One With Ross' Wedding, Part 2". Laurie is also mentioned by Zach Miller in "Joey and the Big Break" as "the dude that plays Dr. House".

James Hugh Calum Laurie, CBE was born in Oxford, England on June 11, 1959. He is an actor, director, musician, comedian and author. He formed a comedy double act with fellow comedian Stephen Fry after being introduced by their friend Emma Thompson. The duo acted together for many years during the 1980s and 1990s, most notably in The Secret Policeman's Ball, A Touch of Fry and Laurie and Blackadder. Turning to more serious acting, Hugh played the title character in Fox TV's House (2004-2012) which earned him a Golden Globe Award. In 2011 he was listed as the most watched leading man on television in the Guinness Book of Records. Hugh also released two blues albums. His star appeared on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2016.

Another House actress, Anne Dudek, appeared on Friends season 10 as Precious.
