  • This has echoes of the Friends episode where Phoebe discovers Frank Buffay Jr., her half-brother, is dating Alice Knight who was his teacher and is much older than Frank.
  • Joey says that he has only said "I love you" to a woman once before - to Rachel.
  • The word that Michael says to his girlfriend are exactly the same to the ones that Ross had said to Julie in the first episode of the second season of Friends.
  • Also, the Russian accent reminds fans of the play Freud! in which Joey starred in season one's episode of Friends "The One With The Butt"
