Michael Lembeck directed 24 episodes of Friends starting with "The One After The Superbowl, Part 1", for which he won an Emmy.

Michael Lembeck (born June 25, 1948) is an American actor, director, and producer. He is the son of the late actor Harvey Lembeck.

Lembeck was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1948. He began acting in the late-1960s and directing in the 1970s. His most notable acting role was as Julie Cooper's husband airline pilot, Max Horvath, on the sitcom, One Day at a Time. He also played "Kaptain Kool" of Kaptain Kool and the Kongs on The Krofft Supershow from 1976 to 1978.

Lembeck works now as a full-time film and TV director. He is married to actress Lorna Patterson.
