Michael Skloff is a composer in the television and film industries. He co-wrote the Friends theme song.
Education[]
Skloff received his bachelor’s degree (BFA) in Music Composition from Carnegie-Mellon University. He went on to achieve a Performer-Composer master’s degree (MFA) from California Institute of The Arts.
Career[]
Skloff composed the music for I'll Be There For You, the theme song of the American TV series Friends. He was nominated for an Emmy award for his work on the song.
He wrote the theme song for other notable shows including the NBC series Dream On.
Skloff has scored several movies, working with directors such as John Landis and Jason Gould.
Personal life[]
Skloff was married to Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman and has three children. The couple divorced in 2015 after 31 years of marriage.
He currently lives in the Hancock Park neighborhood in Los Angeles, California.
