Stu is an antagonistic waiter at Allesandro's. He strongly dislikes Monica, partly because he and the rest of the staff had felt publicly humiliated by an extremely critical review of their food and their service she had written prior to being hired to work at the restaurant herself, and partly because the old head chef who was literally family to him was fired and replaced by her, and he bitterly prosecutes all kinds of bad jokes, like writing 'Quit Bitch' on her hat. Monica wants to give him the sack, but she is afraid of confrontations, so with Joey's consent she hires and then fires him for mouthing off to her in front of everyone. Realizing that he too could get sacked if he carries on giving Monica a hard time, Stu finally leaves her alone, as do the rest of the staff. He later appears in The One With The Stripper, where he gives Monica the number of a hooker instead of a stripper, indicating he still strongly dislikes her.

• In The One With The Girl From Poughkeepsie he is credited as 'The Waiter', while he gets a name for The One With The Stripper.
• Stu is a character from Friends who appears to be an antagonist, a rare thing in the series. He's not the only one though, see for example Luisa.
