This is my review on the couple: Phoebe and Mike.
This couple generally is not reviewed often by fans, especially compared to the other couples on the show but when it is reviewed from time to time, the reception is kind of mix to positive. A lot of fans like them together and say that they are a perfect fit for each other but they are some who would say that they have absolutely no chemistry together and claim that Phoebe should have ended up with David or even Joey. Phoebe and Mike were fantastic together. They portray a special kind of love, the love that could be found at the most unexpected place and way. They also show us that love could progress quickly but smoothly. We see that they were happy and content with each other even when they disagree at some points like for example, when Phoebe temporally changed her name to princess Consuela. I think Mike was the only one who could handle Phoebe's craziness which was probably partly because of his own wit at times matching Phoebe's dark humour.
Like with Monica and Chandler, the couple definitely don't let any barriers stand in their way. Their relationship was so strong that the setbacks the faced only drew them closer eg; when they found out that Mike's parents despised Phoebe's crazy bohemian personality. They knew they had to fight for their relationship and the way Mike stood up in front of his parents was great. I think that little act payed off as Theodore Hannigan approved of their relationship by the time of their wedding. After a difficult childhood, Phoebe deserved only the best, and Mike was everything and more for her. And yes, hands down, their wedding was the best one, the series had to offer.
I love how even when things went wrong after their first breakup, their love never ceased. Phoebe loved Mike so much that when she tried to move on by dating David, she forgot multiple times to call him by his real name and kept referring to him as "Mike." Mike truly loved Phoebe so much that he was willing to immediately dash to Barbados to propose to Phoebe, thrice. And when they smile at each other even during the times when they were apart, you could definitely feel the love. Their love was so strong that they were willing to ditch their friends trying to prevent them from seeing each other. They were also not afraid to be weird around each other which I think was cute.
Overall, as you can see from my review, I am definitely on the side of the fans who would consider them to be great together. Pairing Phoebe up with Mike was the perfect solution to conclude her quest for love as they were perfect for each other. I love how the relationship brought the best out of both characters. I know they're currently underrated at this moment but I hope in time, the couple will receive the love and affection it deserves and be up there as being one of the greatest couples of the series.
